PASADENA RECOVERY CENTER
Celebrates Their 1st Anniversary

Open just one year ago, on January 15, 2001, Pasadena Recovery Center has successfully created not just another treatment center, but an adult residential treatment center that specializes in treating dual diagnosis.
The term dual diagnosis refers to the presence of a substance abuse disorder and a psychiatric disorder in the same individual. The implication is that the psychiatric disorder will not resolve once the substance abuse disorder is addressed. These individuals have been historically poorly served by traditional psychiatric and substance abuse programs, which fail to address both poles of the individual's character.

Pasadena Recovery Center has addressed this problem by building a program that differs from traditional recovery programs. At PRC sensitivity to dual diagnosis issues has been integrated into every aspect of the program. PRC has been organized around the belief that individuals recover best in a context that recognizes and values them as individuals and as whole people. For that reason a bio-psycho-social model is reflected in our program design. Our staff consists of experts in the field of recovery as well as experts in the field of mental health.

Pasadena Recovery Center's program elements include process groups, art therapy, recovery groups, CD education, step study, daily 12 step meetings, spirituality groups, yoga and meditation, cognitive therapy approaches including anger management, individual therapy and counseling, recreation, work experience, job skill development and psychotropic medication evaluation and management.
