  1. Don’t murder my own soul
  2. Don’t whore myself
  3. Don’t steal from myself
  4. Don’t lie to myself
  5. Don’t Covet others, Rather, rejoice your life
Living by these 10 Sayings enables us to live life from the inside out.
The Bible is telling us how to form the foundation of a free life. This is the life of sobriety and decency. We learn that soon after we are relieved of the bondage of slavery, i.e., we stop using drugs, we must face ourselves and our inner demons/taskmasters.
The way that these 10 Sayings work for me is:
  1. I am made in the image of God and so is my fellow-person.
  2. I will be honest with and about myself and not make and Golden Calves for and of myself.
  3. I will not make oaths and promises that I know I can’t keep and when I find that I am not able to keep a commitment, I will promptly let the other person know.
  4. I will make a place of insight, rest and peace inside myself.
  5. I will access the creativity of mother energy and the discipline of father energy to enhance my life and the life of those around me.
  6. I will no longer knowingly engage in activities that murder my own soul
  7. I will not prostitute myself for personal gain nor for the sake of others.
  8. I will not steal my dignity, my decency, my humanity from myself and others
  9. I will no longer believe the lies that I have told to myself from the less than and/or greater than place.
  10. I will be grateful for what I have, I will want what I have and appreciate the gifts of life, joy and freedom that God gives me.
May these actions bring all of us further from our bondages and closer to our promised land.
