HeroinTimes is a niche magazine. We cover a very small part of the road on the information superhighway. We write about mind-altering drugs. We publish material we think will be informative, sometimes helpful to those persons in our world who have problems because of these drugs with themselves or loved ones or friends. We think this kind of information is important. Our regular editorials deal with our positions or views on current events or laws or whatever that impinges on the life of those in the drug community.
Tonight all our normal concerns about druglife pale into seeming insignificance as we contemplate the fact that the United States is on the verge of invading a hapless Iraq within the next few days. The United States will lead a coalition of "the willing" we are told. The larger coalition, which is almost the entire world, could be called "the unwilling". It is our fervent hope that somehow the United States will not proceed to attack Iraq but will, instead, allow the inspectors to return there.
Many civilians both adults and children will be injured or killed in the U.S.' quest to overthrow Saddam Hussein. Apologists for attack offer that many civilians are currently losing their lives because of the cruelty of Saddam's regime in taking available oil money intended to feed the Iraqi people and using that money for maintaining his army and other costly ventures of his personal glorification. That may be true. While we bemoan the loss of innocent life in any quarter, we prefer that the blood of these people be on Mr. Hussein and not on the hands of the United States and its people.
