New Clinics
I noticed you have not mentioned the new clinics that have opened in the Appalachian area of the U.S. I live in the state of VA and on the border of W.VA. There is a "sister" clinic to the one you have listed in Galaax VA (Life Center of Galaax. The "sister" clinic is located in Tazewell County, VA--officially named Life Center of Galaax/Tazewell. Another methadone clinic that just opened Dec 18, 2002 is located in Beckley, W.VA called "National Treatment Specialty Clinic". Although, I do not know all the "names" of the clinics, there have been 10 new methadone clinics opened up in the Applachian area in the last 18 months due to the ever-increasing abuse of Oxycontin. There is very little heroin in these states, but these small rural communities were very hard hit with the oxycontin abuse. ~Cheri Jarvis~

A Place to Grieve
I want to start off by saying thank you. I work in a drug/alcohol rehab. I have been working here for a year and a half. Since I began I have lost many friends to a heroin overdose. I call my client friends because they have all touched my heart. Over the last month we have lost 4 clients. Three of them were just here in the beginning of December. One of them actually completed the program! Working here does not allow me the freedom to grieve. I am to look at these clients with a cold heart. But I can't do that. They all are human and I find a connection. Your site has given me the permission to grieve. I read the obits and I found pieces of each lost client in them.
I thank you for this. I can only hope that their families can find the same comfort.
~Jillian~
A Great site to talk with people about anything, including Heroin but even better about heroin treatment and recovery.
