What
will the withdrawals be like?
With opiate withdrawal, although the symptoms are the same for
everybody, everyone seems to focus on one particular aspect as
the thing that they experience as the worst.
For one person it may be pains in the muscles or joints, for others
it could be the inability to get comfortable. Others have difficulty

Detoxing with Britlofex
A letter from Bef.n.e.
I'm 18 years old and have just come of heroin. I'd been smoking it for a year when on monday the 24th of October I decided to quit. I went to the doctor and she talked about methadone. I told her I really didn't want to use methadone as it's just as addictive. I asked about Britlofex (also known as Lofexidine) and my Dr had never heard of them! Anyway after much research and persuading I was prescribed them. Britlofex are a NON-opiate alternative to methadone for opium detox. When opiates are stopped abruptly the brain produces too much of

the chemical noradrenaline which causes the withdrawel symptoms. Britlofex works by reducing the levels of Noradrenaline and so reducing the severity of the symptoms. And the best thing is, as they DON'T contain opium they are not addictive. They worked for me, true I still expienced some discomfort, which was eased by Buscopan (For stomach cramps) Tamazapan (For shakes and spasms) Zopiclone (For sleeping) and pain killers which can all be used along side Britlofex, but overall the cluck wasn't too bad. It has been over a week since I smoked any herion, and I have no craving at all. The Britlofex detox plan last up to two weeks, for an excellent booklet on it write to: Community Alcohol & Drugs Service, 4 Avenue Road, King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE30 5NW.
