Methadone A wonder drug
In my case methadone is the only thing that has enabled me to walk away from heroin. Methadone is a wonder drug in cases of total addiction. A patient can take methadone and have all their drug cravings satisfied and still remain sober enough to work in almost any kind of job that the patient could work in before they were a drug abuser.
People who say methadone is no good, in my opinion should just not use it then, and leave the patients whom it helps alone to try to repair what's left of their lives. There are too many crusaders like Rudolph Guliani of NYC who think they know what is best for other people. This mentality is what gave the USA the drug problems that it has now-if they would just let adults of sound mind decide for themselves what they shall do with their life, there would be no drug crisis-just users and non users. God bless and have a good life. ~Mike~

Methadone, a far worse drug than heroin
In Oklahoma, many methadone addicts are selling their doses in order to buy heroin. Anyone who has been on methadone for 6 months or more knows that it is a far worse drug than heroin. The physical effects of methadone are much worse, the kick is seemingly never ending, and anyone with any sense will stay off that shit. Why the U.S. government won't begin experimenting with heroin maintenance is beyond me. It's almost as if the feds would rather see people tossing away their health and sanity by using methadone than living a relatively normal life with the aid of heroin. I've been strung out for 31 years on heroin, and can personally attest to the innocuous effects of that drug. I've have also been strung out on methadone for two years, and will do all I can to warn people of its poisonous qualities.
